What do you get when you mix the beautiful tropics from the movie Apocalypse Now and the underwater cinematography of Into the Blue? To be honest, we don’t know. On the other hand, there is Deep Gold. Billed as an action adventure, Deep Gold features some of the hottest up and coming talents in Asia anchored by Bebe Pham, the Vietnamese Supermodel turned actress in her first starring role. Other performances of note include Laury Prudent as Lulu, Amelia Jackson-Gray, Richard Magarey and Jude Moore.
Written and Directed by Michael Gleissner, Deep Gold 3D follows Amy Sanchez (Pham), a champion free diver who, along with her sister Jess (Ong), find themselves thrown into the middle of a deadly conspiracy. A government plane carrying a fortune in gold—piloted by Amy’s boyfriend—goes missing over Philippine waters leading Amy and Jess to investigate the disappearance with help from Lulu (Prudent) and the mysterious Benny Simpson (Gleissner). But the girls soon learn they are in over their heads.
Filmed entirely in and around the exotic islands of Cebu and Palawan in the Philippines, Deep Gold showcases explosive action, daring underwater photography and alluring international model-actresses such as Bebe Pham, Jaymee Ong and Laury Prudent.
Deep Gold will be released nationwide on August 31 in the Philippines with its premiere on August 27 at the Newport Cinema Resorts World Manila.
